Meet our Director

Before assuming his current position at Landrum High School, Mr. Belec was the Director of Percussion at Blue Ridge High School, in Greer, SC from 2021-2024. Under his guidance, the percussion program grew to outstanding measures, including, multiple Best Percussion Awards at local marching band competitions, performances with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Taylors First Baptist Church, and percussion ensemble performances at the South Carolina Day of Percussion receiving excellent ratings in 2023, and 2024. While at BRHS, he was able to create the first ever Greenville County Percussion Showcase held at North Greenville University in partnership with Travelers Rest High School, giving students and oppurtunity to learn and grow in spring percussion ensembles. While at Blue Ridge High School, he also was a quad tech for Charles Towne Percussion, based in Charleston, SC during the 2024 season. 

 

Continuing his dedication at Landrum High School, Mr. Belec has driven the percussion ensemble to unparalleled achievements and growth. Their accomplishments include captivating performances with Best Percussion Awards in the past marching seasons, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, and the WSPA Channel 7 News Station in Greenville, SC. The group has seen exponential growth over the past 2 years, bringing a new found spark in the percussion studio and culture at Landrum High School. Under Mr. Belec's leadership, He was able to create the very first Travel Performing Drumline entitled "Cardinal Pulse" which has sparked attention from the community bringing energy in performances. 

 

Mr. Belec is a native of Lexington, SC where he attended White Knoll High School and North Greenville University, studying Music Education. He is a new found Educator Endorser with Salyers Percussion. He is also a classical trained pianist, and MD for Legacy Church Global in Greenville, SC. Recently, Mr. Belec opened up his own private lesson studio entitled "Belec Music Studios" based in Greer, SC, where he teaches students multiple instruments included to Drum Set, Piano, Guitar, Bass, and Orchestral/Marching Percussion. He has years of experience in performing, and writing, and is in his 5th year of teaching High School Percussion.
